This week, the word is...

dare

— vb
1. to challenge (a person to do something) as proof of courage
2. to be courageous enough to try (to do something): she dares to dress differently from the others ; you wouldn't dare!
3. to oppose without fear; defy
4. I dare say , I daresay

— n
5. a challenge to do something as proof of courage
6. something done in response to such a challenge

[Old English durran ; related to Old High German turran to venture]

usage When used negatively or interrogatively, dare does not usually add -s: he dare not come; dare she come? When used negatively in the past tense, however, dare usually adds -d: he dared not come

And a couple of admin notes:
1) January Fandom Appreciation month is almost over (just a few more days), so count up your comments. esteefee has some AMAZING prizes in store, so stay tuned for that.

2) We loved seeing rec lists of stories and art and vids and more so much this month, we want to encourage you all to continue doing that on a regular basis. SO, in addition to responding to the prompt with your own creations, please feel free to post rec lists or meta, etc that fits under the prompt. For example, this week, you could share three fics in which Rodney is quite daring, or three where games of Truth or Dare where played. I'd say, try to keep to three as a minimum for rec lists, but we'll be flexible on that.

3) Amnesty week is nearly upon us! Dust off your abandoned stories and glance through the list of prompts for new inspiration, and look out for that next week.

Is any particular format for recs required? And how should I tag the post?
